For this digital art poster I had to make, this was for the Outdoor Classroom Industrial Design project that we have been doing with MIAD for a couple of months already. For this project, we had to do a more in depth analysis of our previous problem we did our other posters on. For this poster, I am still facing he problem of "uncomfortable chairs" at Reagan. On my poster, you will notice that it's mostly just chairs. This is because my overall primary focus is on chairs and making them comfortable but also good enough for the environment of an art class, especially since the future art class is going to be outside.
☆Inspirations:
Taking into account my overall topic and main focus of my poster, I knew I'd need some inspiration from different types of chairs. I did some research of different types of chairs, what their used for, and how the impact and affect peoples behavior and work. When looking for inspiration the options varied. There were so many different designs that really inspired me, especially chairs with built in tables in them. For art, that would be a great advantage for students to use. I also knew that wheels were also primarily important as well, when being in an art space you need to have free movement, nothing restricting you from free movement. So, I knew that no matter what inspiration I looked at, I'd need to include at least some wheels to allow for that free movement that's needed in a art classroom.

☆Digital Sketches + Planning☆
When observing my inspirations I began to get hints of ideas for different forms of different types of comfortable chairs. I knew a major chair design I wanted to do was an egg chair since egg chairs are actually known for having the MOST health benefits for our backs, giving us more comfort while also being great for our backs and support. I kind of took what I saw from my inspirations but turned them into different types of designs. I sketched these out on my tablet, and I began by drawing my plans of different types of chairs digitally.
☆Process:
After completing my sketches I looked over them again and noticed that I wanted to stick with my sketch of the Egg Chair. It has all the fundamental parts I wanted to include into my chair while overall looking very cute and comfortable to sit in! I began by going onto Photopea and uploading my Problem Statement, Objective, Existing Solutions: Photos and pros and cons, Inspiration, Ideation, Documentation and my Concept Drawings. After Including all these main components for my MIAD Poster I saved them to be the size of a 19x29 with a DPI/Resolution of 200.00 This is because when printing out my poster I needed it to be a specific size just like everyone else's.

☆Critique!
Similarities: Some similarities between my overall finished product and my design of a chair are the major components. I included the basic necessary functions, the cushioned seat and the included work table that is on the side of the chair. These components are highly similar to the regular design that the chair had already had. I knew I needed to incorporate those major components when looking at my inspiration and planning out my chair design.
Differences: Some differences is that I had included things that weren't on the original inspiration of the chairs I've chosen. On my finalized design of the chair, I had incorporated wheels because we need wheels to allow everyone to have free movement to move around since it will be outside and art is overall very social and involves a lot of engagement. It allows engagement to be much easier. I also changed the overall design, I had changed it to an egg chair since those are the most comfortable and beneficial for humans' health and their backs.
☆Reflection
Overall, this was a very fun project to do. Making posters again for MIAD were extremely fun last time we had done it, so being able to do it again and improve my past ideas with new ideas and designs made this project so engaging and exciting. I was genuinely excited to see what I would come up with in regards to a new and improved chair design. My last chair design wasn't too hot, I didn't focus too much on the important components that I needed to focus on. So, being able to redo it sort of and build off of my mistakes and improve them made me feel a whole lot more confident in this project and when creating my finalized concept of a comfortable chair for all students to use for the outdoor art classroom.
☆ ACT Connections
1) Clearly explain how you are able to identify the cause effect relationship between your inspiration and its effect on your artwork? My inspiration is heavily evident in my finalized chair design. The overall inspirations were a major effect on my final design chair because I needed to base my finalized design off of one of those chairs. 2) What is the overall approach the author has regarding the topic of your inspiration? I feel as though they would sincerely like the finalized design I had come up with since we both had the same goals in mind, comfortable chair. 3) What kind of generalizations and conclusions have you discovered about people, ideas, culture, etc. while you researched your inspiration? When researching for my inspiration I knew I'd see many gaming chairs, or regular desk chairs that are available for teachers at our school, but I didn't want to use those chairs because they were too simple. I wanted a design that looked fun and exciting so I decided on an Egg Chair.
4) What is the central idea or theme around your inspirational research? The overall theme around my inspirational research is comfort for students at Reagan. I want them to have a comfortable yet free moving chair that not only helps support our backs and causes less back pains but to look very fun and exciting to sit on as well.
5) What kind of inferences did you make while reading your research? I inferred that the chairs most people use at home for their office or that teachers use would immediately come up when researching comfortable chairs which did occur.
